Whinny and Mane

Objective

Whinny and Mane is a fictitious horse rescue and rehabilitation non-profit that wants to spread awareness of their mission beyond their local audience. My objective for this school project was to create social media posts/ads that used their branding components and relevant imagery to educate potential donors and volunteers.

Process Overview

Tools: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

My goal with the Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter/X ad designs was to create a clean and soft display that incorporates beautiful, optimistic imagery and a casual, welcoming message that is encouraging and informative. A secondary goal was to create enough similarities in the designs that they would be instantly recognizable as being a part of the brand and to add enough differences that they would hold renewed visual interest. The Twitter/X ad has minimal text to reflect the viewer’s expectations of that channel. Colors are also kept to a minimum and continuity with the tagline and logo. Repetition is seen in the direction of the horse from the logo and the image. The IG and FB ads have more cohesion with color, logo variation, and a grid layout. To ensure the text was readable and the logo was visible, they were placed above a brand-colored background. The white lines that create the grid borders help to divide the content into sections and are meant to represent and repeat the white lines on the horses’ faces.
