Objective
Scoop Shoppe is a fictitious artisan creamery. My objective for this school project was to create an animated social media ad, or GIF, to increase audience awareness of the creamery and its brand story. I was asked to create a glow effect for the call-to-action button and to animate at least one other item in a separate way. I also had to include one version of the logo, the promotional text, and another excerpt that spoke to the brand’s uniqueness.
*Images and icons were obtained for free under Freepik and Adobe Stock Standard licenses. The logo was provided by the client.

Process Overview
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop were used to create the deliverables.
I used the brand’s full-color logo centered on the design and surrounded by “dancing” ice cream icons in brand colors to increase brand recognition. The top third of the design features glowing stars, a young woman enjoying the product, and a color bubble with text to emphasize the brand’s story. The bottom, or last, section of the design includes a glowing call-to-action button with specific text and a short message on the brand’s promotion. The wave lines and assorted color backgrounds help segment the items and create a layered effect that gives an illusion of depth.
Alternative design for a static social media ad:

This alternative design was created in an attempt to fit all branding copy on one design. It was a challenge scenario I created for myself to see how I would maintain design standards if a client required a large amount of provided copy on a small-sized composition.
